WHO WE ARE

Keystone Periodontics and Implantology was founded with the intent of providing exceptional patient care. We are a traveling periodontal practice that serves patients at their home-base dental office. Keystone only works with selected dental practices and dental providers to ensure unparalleled multidisciplinary dental care. We believe the best treatment outcomes result from like-minded dental professionals working together towards a common goal: Practicing in the best interest of our patients.

THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME:

A keystone is the center stone in an arch form. It is the primary stone that holds and supports all others. As the name implies, periodontics is the keystone of dental health and serves as the principal foundation, for which without it, there would be no support for teeth.

Meet Dr. Juliana Sardenberg-Melcher

Originally from Brazil, Dr. Melcher moved to the United States in 1995. She began her educational journey by obtaining an Associate in Applied Science degree focusing on business administration. Her interested lied in small business management, whereby she earned two additional business certificates while managing a store in Disney World. During that time, Dr. Melcher discovered a passion in helping others. She began to fulfill that journey by obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in food science and human nutrition from the University of Florida. From there, she began her dental journey at NOVA Southeastern University where she completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree.

Dr. Melcher continued to devote her time to her education and completed a General Practice Residency (GPR) at the VA hospital in Gainesville, as well as an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) at the VA hospital in Milwaukee where she received further training in all aspects of general dentistry. During those years, she discovered her ultimate passion in dentistry and decided to pursue a lifelong career in periodontics. She earned a Master of Science degree and a certificate in Periodontics from the University of Florida. During her time as a resident, Dr. Melcher served as chief resident and helped implement digital dentistry into the clinic in a push to improve treatment planning and patient care. She dedicated her research to studying the intricate relationship between type 2 diabetes and periodontitis. Upon completing her periodontics certificate, Dr. Melcher challenged and passed the rigorous periodontal board examination and is recognized as a Board Certified Periodontist by the American Board of Periodontology. The dedication to her education is conveyed through the exceptional care she provides to her patients. Her motivation lies in believing that all patients who value high quality dental care deserve a tailored treatment designed with their best interest in mind.

In her spare time, she enjoys all things homesteading with her husband on their hobby farm, home to their two dogs, Theo and Maple, and many feathery children.
